Warranty Covering Rod Blanks

United Composites USA and CRP, LLC believe that the product produced by the company is of the finest quality and workmanship available in the industry. The trend to offer extended or lifetime warranties is merely a fallacy and only increases the overall cost of the product. Because of this, we believe that if any problem with workmanship or materials exists in any of our products, the failures are likely to happen almost immediately. Our warranties, although may not reflect current industry standards, are sufficient to ensure the performance and quality of the product.

It is important to note that our product is stress tested prior to shipping from our manufacturing plant eliminating nearly all warrantable claims. Also be aware that it is our experience that blanks that are deflected (bent) while still in the plastic sleeve have a high tendency to fail. This is 100% attributable to the plastic sleeve restricting the natural deflection of the blank. Failures caused by this condition will not be warrantable.

Our warranty terms for blanks by series are as follows:

  • DHX
  • GUSA
  • SideWinder
  • Challenger Elite
  • Challenger Platinum
  • Challenger Xtreme
  • Zeus

2 years from date of purchase and limited to the original purchaser/owner against workmanship or material defect only. Warranty does not cover incidental or consequential damage or damage from accident, normal wear, abuse, misuse, lack of maintenance.

  • Pioneer SHX

1 year from date of purchase and limited to the original purchaser/owner against workmanship or material defect. Warranty does not cover incidental or consequential damage or damage from accident, normal wear, abuse, misuse, lack of maintenance.

Liability For Rod Blanks

United Composites USA and CRP, LLC will only be liable for the original price paid for the product or the product’s replacement at the company’s discretion. Any and all items attached to a United Composites USA or CRP, LLC product are not the responsibility of the company. This includes guides, grips, reel seats, hook keepers, threadwork, or other custom applications. All items added to any of our blanks will be the sole responsibility of the consumer. In many cases guides, tips, and hook keepers can be stripped from a failed blank and recovered. However, it is up to the consumer to do this prior to sending the blank to United Composites for warranty. Items remaining on the blank will not be returned to the consumer.

Any product modified by cutting or extending will be void of any warranty for workmanship or materials.

Warranty Covering Finished Rods

Due to the confidence we have in our blanks, the warranty for the finished rods will closely mirror that of the rod blanks. We have found that with our finished rods, the weakest link will likely be with the guides. These components are the most susceptible to damage as they stick out from the blank. We also have great confidence in our component suppliers and the quality of the goods that we affix to our blanks to complete a finished rod. With that said, we will firmly adhere to the following policy for the warranty of our finished rod.

  • Elite Composite
  • Xtreme Composite
  • Platnium Composite
  • Swimbait Finatic
  • GUSA Graphite
  • DrumStix

Fracture or Failure

All United Composites USA finished fishing rods come with a 5-year limited warranty which covers materials and workmanship. The 5-year period will begin at the time of purchase. The purchase must be followed by registration of the product on the United Composites site as well as sending in a copy of the proof of purchase. The warranty is limited to the original purchaser.

The warranty period is broken down into two separate timeframes.

During the first 90-days, if the rod breaks or fractures showing lack of quality in the materials or workmanship, the rod will be replaced at no charge.

After the initial 90-days, if the rod breaks or fractures, the owner has the option to replace the failed rod with a new direct replacement or superceeded alternate at the costs below:

Freshwater/Inshore

RUC or RPU Models – $50.00/ea

Saltwater/Inshore

RUS, RSW, RCE, RCP, RCX/Zeus, or RCA – $100/ea

Guide and Tip Failure

Please note that the warranty policy does not cover components that may fail. It is at the consumer’s discretion whether it is worth it to pursue warranty with the component manufacturer or not. However, as a service to our United Composite USA anglers, we will offer to replace failed guides on our rods for the full length of the 5 year warranty period provided the warranty registration policy has been adhered to. It will be the responsibility of the owner of the rod to pay for shipping to and from the United Composite factory in Huntington Beach, CA. In the future, regional service centers may be set up to handle failed components at a location nearer to you. At the time of the preparation of this policy all product must be handled at the United Composites facility.

It is also a standard policy that if you prefer to have your local tackle shop handle the repair in lieu of shipping the rod, United Composites USA will be happy to provide the guide at no charge. You just have to let us know which model rod and which number guide (beginning with the tip), and we will get a replacement guide sent to you for the repair. Again, this will not be available to the owner of the rod if the warranty registration is not in place prior to the failure.

Please call if there are any questions.
